Events from May
May 21st , the day
that I arrived for my visit in New York City,
Shirley and Patrick were
doing interviews over lunch with Blake Green of "Newsday"
a Long
Island-based
daily newspaper circulated in Manhattan and the boroughs.
He wrote a feature story on the two of them.
May 27th was
a very exciting evening. Shirley and Patrick were
on hand to
present several awards at Sardi's restaurant
for the
Outer Critics Circle Awards
Congratulation to all winners and especially
Hugh Jackman who is
unbelievable in "The Boy From OZ". He won for best actor in a musical!
The awards event included a sit
down dinner. Shirley's youngest son
Ryan Cassidy was there with his adorable girlfriend
(I met her at
Shirley's 70th birthday party).
After the ceremony,
Shirley and Pat had to run off to The Ford Center
for the Performing Arts for their evening performance of
"42nd Street".
