Artists rendering of the new Schwab's and the original built in the 30's

You've all heard of Schwab's Pharmacy.
It's rumored that Lana Turner was discovered there
while sitting at the lunch counter.

The original was located at Sunset Blvd. and Crescent Heights in Hollywood.
It opened in 1932 and closed in 1983.
The exciting news it that they are building a new Schwab's.
Why is that so exciting? Because of the new location!

Shirley's star on The Hollywood Walk Of Fame
will be in front of the new entrance!

That's Shirley on February 14th, 1986 receiving her star on The Walk Of  Fame.
It's located on Vine Street, a few blocks south of Hollywood Blvd.

Marty Ingels received The Jeanie Golden Halo Eagle Award
for Outstanding Comedian and Humanitarian on December 5th,

A beautiful photo of Shirley performing "Goodnight My Someone" at Lou's Village

 "The Adventures of Scooter McDoogal"
received a private premiere on Sunday, Dec. 22nd at a special benefit dinner for
The St. Jude's Hospital Fund.

"The Adventures of Scooter McDoogal" takes kids on a wild ride
to witness historical events first hand. "Cool Brain Fuel" is the catch phrase for the
popular comic book endorsed by educators. Producer Diane Russomanno calls it
".....an enterbraining , scooterriffic series loaded with fun, excitement and knowledge!"

Shirley and Marty attended the dinner along with many other celebrities and famous celebrity voices
such as June Foray whose distinctive voice you all recognize from Rocky & Bullwinkle,
The Flintstones and many others.

Frequently asked email question:
"Has Shirley done cartoon voice-over work?"
She says she has not, but everyone knows that Marty Ingels is the voice for "Pac Man"

 November 30th, 2002
Shirley's recent trip to Mason City, Iowa was a great success.
This was her fourth visit since 1999. Six years ago, Rosemary Willson,
widow of Meredith Willson, pledged to match up to five million dollars
raised for the construction and operation of
"The Music Man Square".
They reached their goal!

Shirley made two trips to Iowa in 2002. Back in May I was with Shirley and Marty
for the unveiling and dedication of the life-size bronze statue of Mr.Willson.

October 26th
 The Ojai Film Festival 2002
Shirley accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award on Saturday
evening just before the outdoor amphitheater screening
of  "The Music Man" in beautiful Ojai, California.

Earlier in the evening Shirley was the honored guest at a lovely reception.
They served delicious hors d'ouevres, spinach quiche, fruit salads, pastries and drinks.

There were a number of press photographers at the event.
Shirley sat and posed for photos at The Art Center in Ojai.

Shirley signed memorabilia that guests brought to the reception.
Ojai Photographer Leslie Vallee-Miller took the second photo of me taking the first photo!

When it was time to march over to the open-air theatre in Libbey Park,
Shirley was escorted by the local high school band. They played a marvelous rendition
of  "The Wells Fargo Wagon" as we walked from the reception held at the Ojai Art Center
to the park next door. We walked over a lovely wood footbridge and past a charming bandstand.
I was walking with Shirley so I could not take photos during the actual procession.
However, I did get this great photos of the lush green park before the reception began at 5:00 pm.

Photographer Leslie Vallee-Miller from Ojai, California was gracious enough to send our site
the photos below. The marvelous school band, our procession through the park
to the open-air theatre and Shirley accepting her Life Achievement Award on stage.

Thank you so much Leslie, and Teri and everyone in Ojai.
It's a very friendly and helpful community.

of the festival screening on Saturday September 14th.
It was a joy to finally have the chance to see "Manna from Heaven".

"On Stage" Salutes Richard Rodgers
The Gala aired for the first time on PBS Stations nationwide
Wednesday, October 16th, 2002

Shirley Jones hosts this exciting event taped before a live audience on April 14th, 02
The program includes performances from many Broadway Legends, special  interviews
with stars, as well as clips from films of Rodgers' works. The one hour special celebrates
the centennial anniversary of the composers birth.

Shirley was the host for the formal evening at The Kennedy Center.
After the program was edited for broadcast, Shirley was also honored to be asked to
narrate the finished 60 minute PBS Special. In the photo above, a more casual Shirley Jones
speaks from her home about her experiences with the legendary Richard Rodgers.

On stage with John Raitt. They sang "If I Loved You" from "Carousel"
This was the first time that the two if them had ever gotten together to sing a duet!
Shirley is famous for her role as Julie Jordan in the film version of Carousel with Gordon MacRae.

  More News About Fawn Park.
An important piece of our American history will be a focal point
at Shirley and Marty's Fawn Park.
The Ingels sent a letter requesting a memento from the 9/11 tragedy.
They were told that few were available and that high priority was needed.
Letters and stories of the new park convinced the powers that be
to approve and confirm the donation.

A plaque from the Mayor will accompany a piece of steel from the Twin Towers.
Marty said that the park represents what America is all about.
The monument marks a period of our current history that will never be forgotten
and it will be persevered in Fawn Park for all future generations.

Marty and Shirley have this tentative map of what they hope the park
will look like when completed. To the left in Marty's drawing there is a
volleyball court and horseshoe pit. That's a large play area (lower center).
Trees, benches and flowers everywhere. Shirley and Marty have
not yet decided on where the historical artifact is to be located.

 Shirley has completed work
on two new films This summer.

"Bloodhead" is Shirley's first HORROR  film!

Her other new film, which also stars Wendy Malick, was shot in
Pacific Palisades (west of Hollywood). Shirley plays crazy aunt Sis!
She said that it's a dysfunctional comedy titled (I kid you not) "Bathroom Boy".

Shirley is having a great time portraying unusual characters these days.
This was just the beginning of  her hair and makeup session.
She looks a little different in the completed scene.

More news and some action photos from "Bloodhead"

Please click on this photo & visit Casablanca Studios.
Shirley recorded deathly screams that will make your flesh crawl if you're brave enough
to see the movie. Her character is a nasty, tobacco spitting trailer park owner.

This will be a very spooky movie!
It is directed by Christopher Coppola. The producer is Richard Prince.
Other stars include Frank Gorshin, Lynda Carter and Bernie Kopell.

That's Julia Boyd with Shirley. She was the scooter girl for a scene in "Bloodhead".
Julia is also Jr. Miss American Rose Joshua Tree City Queen for 2002.
She had a great time visiting with Shirley while on location for the film.

                       No, they are not divorcing.

Friday, May 3rd - Shirley and Marty were guests one The Other Half.
Watch for a repeat of this episode sometime this summer.

Danny Bonaduce is co-host of the unique talk show that deals with men's emotions.
Shirley and Marty discussed their marriage woes. The photo above is when they were
explaining Shirley's divorce actions. As I mentioned here several times, it really was
because Marty would not stop hiring contractors! As he himself puts it:
"It's the first divorce action on history where I could go out with 75 hookers
to Las Vegas, but I can't build an appliance closet at the new house".

For fun, Shirley and Marty came out with boxing gloves on.
Special Thanks to Marty&Shirley and Suite One for these improved photos.

Austin has been playing the violin since the age of four. He won first place in the
youth category at the Southwestern Youth Music festival. He also won first place
at the Orange County American String Teachers Association Annual Bowed
String Competition. Austin began "Let There Be Peace on Earth"
with a most beautiful solo performance.

"THANKS all of you" for your kind wishes!

Shirley was in New York working for the

Danny Bonaduce is a co-host on the daytime talk-show.
Back in October of 2001 Shirley filmed a segment for the show.
It has apparently aired once, possibly twice since then.
(We were not given specific air dates for this show)

In my photo loop above you see Danny greeting Shirley. In the next photo

Taller than Shirley and even Partridge brother David Cassidy.
Shirley had a wonderful time talking with her former TV son.
They talked mostly about her recent move to a new house
in California's San Fernando Valley.

Shirley was a guest on
The Annual Mark and Brian Christmas Show.
December 14th.

She was enlisted to read "The Night Before Christmas".
This was Mark and Brian's 14th Annual Christmas Show.
Each year they ask a famous person to read the classic Christmas story.
The most adorable moment came when Shirley was reading the narrative.

Shirley stopped and announced quietly to the entire audience
 "I think I missed a page"
The audience roared with laughter and a man yelled out
"We love you Shirley".
She replied back with: "I love you, too"

Doesn't she look just beautiful in her new red tailored suit.
Shirley told me that she did not have any big plans for Christmas.
She said that most likely the family will meet at her son Patrick's house.

Shirley was one of the very talented entertainers at the official
National Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Washington D.C.

Shirley told me that she had an absolutely wonderful time
as host of the ceremony.

The tradition began with Calvin Coolidge on December 24th 1923.
This year's ceremony, held on the lawn of the White House, was
December 6th.

Shirley sang "The Christmas Song" by Mel Torme, and
"My Favorite Things" from Rodgers and Hammerstein's "The Sound of Music".
She also joined in on the final song and audience sing-a-long of
"Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"

August 25th
It was a wonderful day for all of the very special animals.
Every one of them was rescued. They were orphaned
or injured in some way and the Zoo saved their lives.

Lots of famous celebrities turned out for this exciting event.

August 26th

The Family Television Awards - Aug. 10th, CBS

These are adorable. They were at each place setting
for the luncheon in Beverly Hills. We dined on a delicious chicken
pasta salad and there was an extremely rich, but tasty, pecan dessert.

Dick Clark Productions

The Beverly Hilton's grand ballroom was packed with multi-talented celebrities.
Shirley was there to represent The Classic Mom. (The Partridge Family)
Tom Bosley of "Happy Days" was selected as The Classic Dad.
Shirley looked just beautiful in an off-white suit and colorful scarf.

Of course when you watch the program, you won't see these camera men
to Shirley's left. They got up on stage to take a few close-ups of Shirley's entrance.

The taping ran without a hitch even though there were a few re-takes here and there.
The stars had no time to rehearse because of their busy schedules, so everyone
was reading from cue cards.
Dick Clark directed the broadcast with ease and good humor.

August 1st - Shirley was a guest on "THE TEST"
The FX Network Program is hosted by Jillian Barberie.
(Shirley taped the show in Los Angeles, a few days before it was broadcast)
Celebrities are asked a series of questions that make up a personality profile.
Wednesday's show was a Superstition Test.
One of the questions: "Do you wear a special item
or perform rituals before a big event?"

Shirley's answer: " I really don't do anything. I do the usual things
like vocalize and yawn a lot"

At the end of the show they determine if the guest is superstitious
or not by the numbers they receive for each question.
Shirley got a zero. She's not at all superstitious.

In early Spring, Shirley Jones and Marty Ingels taped a segment
for NBC's talk show titled: "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus".

25 Years of Hope Through Empowerment

Shirley was honored Saturday night, May 12th, in Beverly Hills.
She received the
Hope Through Empowerment Award
Shirley has had an ongoing commitment to help those less fortunate.
Each year St Joseph's Center helps over 12,000 low income and homeless men,
women and children providing them with
necessary work skills, self-respect, dignity and hope.

Shirley's good friend Jill Eikenberry presented the award

Many interesting items were sold at the live auction that concluded
the entertaining and very elegant evening in the grand ballroom of the famous
Beverly Hills Hotel.
Please click on this star To View  a photo loop of the evening.

Marty was the official auctioneer, so you know this was a lively event!
This autographed Shaquille O'Neal basketball sold for thousands of dollars.

Needless to say, after auctioning such items as
a trip to Florence, Italy, Shaq's basket ball and a jacket signed by
the entire cast of "The West Wing", the St Joseph Center brought in
quite a lot of funding for their much needed, ongoing work for the poor.

Shirley was in Iowa taking part in a wonderful celebration held by
The Mason City Foundation.
Shirley spent the afternoon of May 31st at
The River City
"Streetscape" Grand Opening.
She signed autographs, greeted fans
and had her picture taken thousands of times.

Here is a great photo that my husband took before the awards Dinner (5/31)
The tables were set up in front of the River City High School facade.
What a trooper! Shirley had a cold and her doctor said "Shirley don't fly or sing".
Guess what, she insisted on fulfilling her schedule.
Following the afternoon's events at The Music Man Square, Shirley's evening continued
with dinner and the presentation of the annual "Meredith Willson Awards".
Shirley was presented with The Mason City Foundation's
first ever "Crystal Award" for all of her phenomenal work
and generous support throughout the years.
Even with her health in question, Shirley also performed in concert on June 1st.
She is one in a million and there's no doubt her show was fabulous!
* I received many notes of praise for Shirley in our Home Page Email.

Many wonderful fans,  a lot of photos and autographs,
plus a visit from the Mayor and Eulalie Mackecknie Shinn

Mayor Shinn and Eulalie are in fact Fred and Ila Mae Fenchel.
They have been married for 51 years.
Fred played the part of Mayor Shinn 33 years ago in the very first

stage production of "The Music Man" in Mason City.

Explorarorium, a Conservatory of Music, the Reunion Hall and a Theater!

Meredith Willson's
100th Birthday, May 18th, 2002
This date was to be the official Grand Opening for the entire Square.
I'm now told that to coordinate the Annual North Iowa Band Festival
with the opening of Square, the actual Grand Opening is to be on May 28th.

American Movie Classics

The Tour
(Rainbow Media merged with American Movie Classics, February of 2001)

AMC Fashion Tour
It all began in Boston, Mass. on
March 19th
and finally wrapped in Detroit, Michigan on
May 5th.

We certainly hope that you were able to visit one of the tour stops
to see Shirley and this Fabulous Fashion Show.

Shirley was interviewed on the local news station KUSI in San Diego

Finot, Gene, and Shirley outside the AMC bus
after the 3rd "Fashion in Film" show on
April 21st.

Special Thanks to Finot, Shirley's personal assistant for this tour,
her fabulous agent Gene, and most of all Shirley who I admire beyond words.

A tired but relaxed Shirley Jones after the second of four Fashion Shows.
Shirley has had this small, yet cozy motor home for the extensive tour.
There's a TV over the cab section (a tennis match was on in the background)
She has a kitchen area with a sink and table toward the back of the van.

There's much to report about this wonderful, exhausting whirlwind tour.
Shirley's first comment to me when I asked her "How's the tour been going"?

"I don't know where I am, or who I am!"
But she enjoyed it.

I will be presenting more information from the fashion show. There were gowns from
"Carousel" and another from "The Music Man".
Plus, other dress selections like the one below.

I believe this is a dress that

Answering questions during the three hour seminar.
 February the 6th, 2001
The Los Angeles Learning Annex
Shirley Jones and Marty Ingels.
The seminar was very interesting and of course entertaining with those two involved!
It was all about Therapeutic Separation.
Dr. Ron Podell
helped Shirley and Marty with some of the
tension and anxiety that had built up in their 25 year marriage.

Shirley responds to a comment by Marty & Marty talking to a guest in the audience.

The Seminar was held at the
Doubletree Hotel, in Santa Monica, Ca.

A five minute break from their seminar
for a quick surrey ride around the hotel lobby.
This is the surrey that Marty gave to Shirley that evening.
The green arrow points to publicist Ed Lozzi who looks on happily as
bright lights and cameras capture Shirley and Marty in a hug.

Me & Shirley
What A Wonderful Time!

Thank You to all of our friends from this web site
who were able to drop by for the exciting autograph signing sessions
in North Hollywood. Saturday and Sunday
(Jan. 20/21).
Shirley had a fun time, although she actually started to get a
little giddy (her own words) at the end of the second day.

A fellow named Mark, & Shirley signing one of thousands of
color glossy photos that people purchased to have personally autographed.

At times the crowd was quite overwhelming. Ray and Sharon Court
who arrange for these fabulous celebrity events mentioned to us that
Shirley was by far the most popular celebrity this weekend. (well naturally!)
However, there were many great performers at this show.
